iDEAL and Wero payments in your bio link
Discover how to accept iDEAL, Wero, and Bancontact payments through your link-in-bio page. Sell more easily to Dutch and Belgian customers.

Dutch consumers prefer paying with iDEAL. Belgian customers choose Bancontact. And with Wero, there's a new payment method rapidly gaining popularity. If you sell through your bio link, you want to offer these payment methods. In this article, you'll learn how.
Why local payment methods matter
Research shows that up to 60% of Dutch consumers abandon a purchase if iDEAL isn't available as a payment method. People trust what they know. If you only offer credit card, you lose a large portion of your potential customers.
The same applies to Belgium with Bancontact. These payment methods aren't just a nice-to-have — they're essential for conversion in the Benelux region.
What is Wero?
Wero is the new payment solution from the European Payments Initiative (EPI). It's like an iDEAL 2.0 that works across Europe. With Wero, you pay directly from bank account to bank account, without credit cards or intermediaries.
Benefits of Wero:
- Money in your account immediately, no waiting days
- Lower transaction costs than credit card
- Works in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, and more
- Trusted — backed by major European banks

Frequently asked questions about iDEAL and Wero payments
What exactly is Wero?
Wero is the new European payment method from the European Payments Initiative — a partnership of sixteen large European banks (including ING, Rabobank, ABN AMRO, Deutsche Bank and BNP Paribas). Payments go directly from bank account to bank account, no credit card or intermediary involved. In the Netherlands and Belgium, Wero will gradually replace iDEAL and Bancontact as the default.
Can you accept iDEAL through a link-in-bio?
Yes, through the Mini Shop in LinkDash you can offer iDEAL alongside Wero, Bancontact and credit card. Customers pick their bank, confirm in their banking app, and the payment lands in your Mollie balance within seconds. For Dutch buyers iDEAL is still the expected payment method — without it, a meaningful share of carts get abandoned at the final step.
What are the transaction fees for iDEAL and Wero?
Mollie charges €0.29 per iDEAL transaction and €0.29 per Wero transaction — both flat, no percentage. Bancontact is €0.39, credit card 1.8% + €0.25. LinkDash itself takes no additional commission on Mini Shop payments from the Pro plan and up. On 100 sales of €10 each you pay roughly €29 with iDEAL or Wero versus ~€43 on credit card.
How quickly does the money land in my bank account?
An iDEAL or Wero payment hits your Mollie balance within seconds. Mollie then pays out daily on business days to your linked bank account — typically arriving within 1 business day. Credit card payments take 1 to 3 business days to settle into your Mollie balance, then another business day for payout.
Do I need a business registration and a Mollie account?
For the Mini Shop you need a Mollie account — you connect it in two minutes from LinkDash settings. A formal business registration is required once you sell on a structural basis; the threshold differs per country (Netherlands: KvK, Germany: Gewerbeanmeldung, France: auto-entrepreneur). For one-off sales or a Tip Jar, registration usually isn't required.
